Rnd 15: Central v South @ Playford Alive Oval (Sat 13/7)

Postby Big Phil » Mon Jul 08, 2013 9:59 pm

The Dogs had a great win on the road while the Panthers are coming off back-to-back home wins. South have not defeated Central since 2006 and have not tasted victory at Elizabeth since 1999 but this should be a lot closer than some may think.

Reserves @ 11:25am

League @ 2:10pm

Broadcast - 1197am RPH Adelaide from 1:30pm

From SAFC.com.au

Teams for South v Central at Playford Alive Oval on Saturday July 13th - Thursday July 11th

South Adelaide has strengthened its potency by including key forward Brett Eddy for its contest against Central District at Playford Alive Oval on Saturday.

The former Collingwood VFL spearhead performed strongly in the reserves last round, collecting 20 disposals, 10 marks, eight inside 50s and five goals against the Double Blues.

Named at centre-half forward, Eddy was joined in the Panthers’ 21 by pint-sized midfielder Caleb Daniel, who was unable to play last round due to a family commitment.

Utilities Joe Haines and Nic Schwarz were the unlucky pair to make way.

A little surprised Haines got the chop. Has been alright in his 3 or 4 games. Eddy been in decent ressies form, hopefully can finally have an impact at league level.

He was available to be picked this week, after his 4 week suspension was served, but he wasn't named in either the League or Reserves sides for the Dogs.

Thanks for the heads up on the Obst question Phil.
I would have thought four weeks was enough of a punishment for the individual and the team.
Interesting non-selection, especially if there are no associated injuries.

Interesting non-selection, especially if there are no associated injuries.

In the same game against the Eagles that Alan was reported and subsequently suspended, he hurt his ankle in a marking contest shortly after the incident.

Over on the Central forum someone mentioned he may have had a little operation on the ankle, hence his non-selection in either the League or Reserves.

Think South should go OK, Central to break away a little in the second half. Dogs by 28 points.
