Agreed, the umpire didn't seem to pay too much attention to the angle Thring should have ended up being on...

No, but he would even admit he snuck a few extra degrees on the angle because of the uniqueness in angle of that SW pocket...

Watching the vision back, Bricknell proabably should have questioned the mark more with the umpire, to get Thring on more of an angle than what he ended up taking the shot from...

Regardless of how much he "snuck" around which the majority of players would have tried so good on him, he still didn't have alot of daylight to aim for with the kick. Given the situation (time on and trailing by 2 points), the pressure to kick a goal was massive! It was one of the great set shots of this season and for many a season at Prospect.

Great shots?
It looked frigging awful, it was heading out on the full to our left before it started spinning like a drunken top on a tilt and flew sideways! He looked in shock after the kick as did most of us!

Well Max did describe it as a "floating helicopter" kick post match!

Thanks for spoiling the drama, theatre and future embelishment of the kick when we look back in years to come! :D

As on the call, I thought he would have to aim for the left post and let the breeze swing it back in. Instead it did exactly the opposite ... an amazing goal on many levels.
