The Port Adelaide Football Club advises Matthew Bishop has been appointed as the interim General Manager of its SANFL operations.

Bishop will commence in the role on Monday 3 June and will oversee the work of the club’s events, marketing and football operations at SANFL level.

Bishop has previously worked in the role of Football Services Manager for the club’s AFL operations and will maintain the important role until at least the end of the 2013 SANFL season.

Bishop played 132 games for Port Adelaide in the AFL between 2000 and 2006 and 18 games for the Melbourne Football Club in 1998 and 1999.

He was a member of the club’s inaugural AFL premiership in 2004 and was named its best finals player in 2002.
