Nothing needs to save the SANFL, the SANFL is fine.
If it will save Port Adelaide or not is probably a more relevent question.
The answer is No.

Hit the nail on the head yet again Wedgie. Correct on both counts.
Nothing can save Port Power and the Adelaide Oval has little or no effect on the SANFL other than where the finals .... if not just the GF will be playerd.

It won't save Port and IMO I think it will have more chance of damaging the SANFL than helping it

Yep, ideally it would have 8 or 10 teams and no bye but besides that all is good and without the Power noose around the SANFL's neck and the money coming in from both Adelaide Oval and whatever they plan to do at West Lakes and things couldn't be rosier.

Except clubs are going broke, players desert the SANFL for the local football competitions, Sturt doesn't have a home nor club rooms. All good.

The Adelaide Oval redevelopment will be a white elephant. It'll be just another way for the SANFL to pi55 money away without significantly improving the state of the clubs within the competition.

Port will struggle getting support there after the honeymoon period because ticket prices will increase. I can just see this turning into a mess.

Clubs have been in financial difficulty for over a hundred years, that's no bearing on how well off the competition is as a entity. Be like saying Australia's broke because we have a homeless person.
The fact that most clubs aren't going broke show its not a SANFL issue, but just poorly run clubs that have made poor decisions. Sturt's been going broke since the early 90s when its fans stopped going to games.
If the questions was "Will anything save Sturt?" then I'd be answering differently but its not.

You said the state of the SANFL was fine though. I think the standard is ordinary and the comp is in trouble, but that's just my opinion.

Of course ANY Sturt supporter would say the standard is ordinary.
