As previously mentioned.

Slattery, Surjan and Hayes to come back in.

Brett Ebert will be at the Magpies, perhaps Johncock too?

Butch will play at least 2-3, but will need to kick a few to get a call up.

On paper, it does look a pretty good side.

I think our best team isnt too bad this year, but depth is a real worry

Absolutely.
I'm also interested in game style, from what I have heard Kenny is making some changes to the game plan. Whether this suits us and our skill set, time will tell.

The bigges thing for me ( and I typed the same thing last pre-season ) is we need Mieklejohn and Cockshell to impose themselves on games. I dont think any other SANFL side has the strength to counter two ruckman of their ability, if they play to their best. Both in the middle and up forward.

Yes depth is a concern.

One thing that I noticed in the reserves trial against North was that the defence was fairly solid and the run from the back half and through the middle was ok but we really broke down across half forward, there was no real structure about the forward line. My mate who watched the League trial also thought the same, again with us breaking down badly across half forward and the lack of structure up forward.

I won't be going to the trial against Glenelg tonight but hopefully the Magpies forward structure and moving the ball into the forward 50 will improve tonight.

And yes Booney, Mieklejohn and Cockshell need to step up. Their ruck duo is a big strength the Magpies have and they both need to takle the game by the scruff of the neck and really impose themselves this season.

The only thing Cocky would impose himself on is the pie cart

Barmby Reichart Haydon

Guilhaus Symes Boyd

Int: Osborne J.Schiller Nash
