I know for fact the Panthers spoke to Bamford about their talent management role.

Let's just say south are about to name a new u'18 coach and talent manager. :o
If its Bamford I think it's in everyone's best interests that he wasn't at Port next year. Would be hard for KenMC with him still at the club. It's like moving in with your girlfriend and having her ex renting out one of the spare bedrooms!
He may be talking about Julian **** who was U18 coach and development manager at port, but lives down South.
Anyway didnt Ken McGregor retire from the SANFL because he didnt have the time anymore?

Was handled really poorly by the club. Why they would tell players who the coach was before telling the other candidates they were unsuccessful is beyond me. I don't think there was any malice in it as Stephen Williams was coach when Leys got his premierships. The teal side of things has nothing to do with anything

Port handle things poorly ??? Never.

I think port magpies have simply been victims of the ever changing landscape that is football . ;)

Reading the Advertiser this morning and posts on here, it seems as though Stephen Williams is still having troubles with mobile phones! :D

Whatever the case maybe, how Leys couldn't phone straight away shows either a lack of respect or incompetance! Or both! This pathetic treatment of an ex premiership coach isn't on and really highlights where Port are as a whole. Can't get the most basic of things right. Do any of you seriously believe this job can be done successfully part-time when most of the other clubs coaches are full-time, especially as the Magpies have been very poor for over a decade now! Maybe the money just wasn't there to attract a full-time candidate?

Roy isn't full-time & he's won 7 Premierships.

Surely you simply call the non successful applicants first and call the successful one last then announce it, doesnt seem too hard?

Wedgetail you are right, Williams is still having mobile phone issues, he should try holding them instead of throwing them...mind you he is one hell of a shot!

Actually, due process would mean the offer is accepted then un successful applicants notified, incase of the succesful applicant not accepting the offer. Doesnt really matter, they should have notified the un succeful applicants properly anyway
