He made it look that easy he may as well have been in the goal square

Plant took a good diving mark under pressure, as he went back for his kick from 30m out straight in front the siren went, steadied himself and slotted it through. At that stage I shut the roller screen and started washing the pots and pans in the BBQ

the main reasons we lost;

poor start- we are incapable at the moment to pull back 5-6 goal deficit, take the lead and carry on to win the game.

inside 50 count- sturt 56 to south 36, if we get a decent amount of entries like 45-46 we win the game

Is there a stat on who puts the ball inside 50 the most for South?

Delivery to team mates is all teams biggest problem, South would have to be the worst or second worst in the comp with this problem.

If we can get the ball to a team mate and he can hang onto it, then a lot of our problems will be solved (wouldnt all coaches like that)

Nail the coffin on season 2012 :( A year that promised a lot but has delivered so very little.

Poor start hurt us like last week. Once we 'switched on' we played some good footy, but we're not good enough to play in patches as we have been. Cross and Liddle were busy, but for most of the day we were unaccountable when the ball wasn't in our hands. Sturt often had a spare man running through half forward. Rolfe was lively again and Wundke made the most of his opportunities. Liked the game again of Veide across CHB. He's been one of the few positives from this season. Nathan Daniel was mentioned in another post..was a definite favourite of mine last season (snagged 25+ goals from memory ontop of his 'in and under' work) but his form has really dropped away this year. Went without a kick today.

Yet another bye coming up (&*^* foxtel cup ~x( )

Recruits we have this year have been terrible for us - let's be brutally honest here.

If it was not for the usual suspects like cross , Liddle, Rolfe , stribling and wunkes ( when switched on! )...we would be screwed more so than we are now :(

I think we really miss Horne and Lyons from last year. Made a huge difference !!

The OKeefe thing must of had some sort of negativity on the group too.

Just a crap year really .... Can't be expected to play finals if you can't win games at home :(

Dunno if this has really has anything to do with it, but got the feeling last year South snuck up and surprised a few, eventually falling into the 5 .. This year though they have been (rightly) rated.

That said, they have been in potentially winning positions several times only to walk away empty handed .. Been a bit of a Richmond season for the Panthers (not that all is lost yet).

We definitely have missed Horne this year. If the departure of O'Keefe didn't teach the group something, then they are hard learners, IMHO Lyons was a good seconds standard player, I know you will howl me down , but I don't rate Veide any more than a reserves player, he does some good things at times and very ordinary the rest, Crabb, Gotch, Daniels and Brooksby have given us very little and been poor contributors for most of the season. Five good minutes out of 100 doesn't stand up.

I will await return fire.

Was Lyons the bloke who wore number 1 or 2 last season with half sleeve tatoo on one arm.

If so i thought he was actually pretty handy, admittedly i didnt see alot of him but what i did see thought he had the makings of a real top notch SANFL midfielder.

Where did he end up going?

Yeah, that was him. Was quick across the ground and generally "had a dip", but always seemed to try to kick the stuffing out of the ball..so his disposal let him down. Handy depth player though.

Went back home to country Vic I believe, but could be wrong. Of the blokes we lost I rated Horne the highest, but also had a fair bit of time for McLeod. Could have been very good SANFL player. But there is no point talking about 2011..

If you include last season we've won 1 of last 12 at home

Planty's winning mark and goal.

One of those moments Nick Liddle will look back on time and time again.

Solid mark though. Would/should have been a free regardless.

Love the South supporters reaction behind the goals after its kicked !

.... Sums up how us Southees feel and the constant pain we go though ... Year after year .

Hope he's OK :)

Totally know how he feels !!

Maybe the team need to look at the reaction of that bloke and see how much we love and bleed for the club.
