I guess crappy weather combined with the match being televised were contributors to this low attendance.
I recorded the match though and must say I enjoyed watching the highlights of the 1982 Central v Sturt match from Unley. Classic footage. :D

Both the games between the clubs in 82 were all-time classics, and eerily similar in terms of how far behind the winning team had been earlier in the match ... Such natural footballers back in those days. Edwards in particular, and the big fella Wright always made Central a good team to watch back then .. Motley and Graham at Sturt .. Ah they were the days!!

I remember being amazed seeing a large crowd all around the ground, given its curent configuration.

Nah, the game they're talking about Central came back from being about 12 goals down before half time and winning it.
I listened to it on the radio at home. I remember Michael Graham hitting the post in the dying minutes, and I believe we lost by less than a goal. The commentator rode that kick in along with everyone at the ground and at home, right up until tue huge "Oh!" signalled that it hadn't gone through, ("and it's hit the post!") easy to understand why Dogs fans loved it.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Yes, I remember that game. I was ten and was right in line with the the flight of the ball on the Michael Graham kick, I thought we were gone. I think I remember a young Peter Motley taking a great mark on the wing. It was one of the best comebacks I've ever seen and one of my earliest football memories.

Got plenty of the ball, I always figure if I don't notice an opposition player and they got a bit of the ball they didn't do too badly. I tend to notice them more when they mess things up. Question is I guess do the crows give him another year? He's on the outer but has talent. He must be in the gun but I'm not sure it's all said and done just yet. If he does get cut and not picked up by someone else, Sturt could do worse than keeping him on board if possible.

Fair assessment Graham but unfortunately for him I think it's all over and perhaps a bit unjustly he'll be most known in 20 years time as the answer to a trivia question.

Poor game all round and about the only consolation out of the game was the performance of Greenslade and Montgomery had it tough on debut in the first half matching up against Boyd.

Thought Habel, as has been mentioned, was very good and I thought this Lawton bloke was some sort of imposter in the first half but he certainly proved to me that he could play in the second half.
