Kudo's to Grand North @ Grand Junction Rd.

Postby Sojourner » Thu Nov 10, 2011 12:56 pm

Was in yesterday at Grand North for a function, meals were awesome, well priced and the customer service was first class, yet that isnt what I had in mind!

North Adelaide are running a Christmas "Wishing Tree" from the club. They have a large Christmas Tree in the entrance to the dining room by the lounge area, on it it has tags of Boy and Girl and various ages, you are encouraged to either take a ticket and buy a suitable present and return it to the Christmas tree or alternativley you take the ticket over to the Cashier and make a donation and the club will buy a suitable Christmas present on your behalf. The NAFC will then be collating the presents and distributing them to poor and disadavantaged children who quite likely would be getting little or nothing for Christmas this year. I am not sure if the NAFC are passing them around or if they are getting the Salvos or the Smith Family or so on to make the drop offs.

Think its a really good thing for an SANFL club to get involved in. There is plenty of criticism of the poker machines both outside and inside of SANFL clubs, initiatives like this are a really good way to do something really positive in the community.

So if you would like to support it, please call in and take a ticket or slip them a donation, I am sure that it will be very much appreciated!

Part of our pre-season / pre xmas training will be dressing the players in Xmas Costumes and having them deliver the presents personally. In lieu of Sleigh Bells we will hang Jimmy Allan's 3 MM's around the reindeers neck to make the sound affects!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.
