My thoughts exactly, Rucci cracked the sads when Sir Les wrote his letter potting Port Adelaide and the AFL, and has been looking to white anting the Dogs (and SANFL as a whole) as pay back. What better way to do that than suggest, with his, ahem, "humorous" innuendo. IMHO

He's merely learnt from the best (his boss Rupert)

Yeah you might want to turn your phone off :)

If the other clubs believe this then it is no wonder they are struggling to keep up with the dogs.

If higher paid players win matches then why haven't the dogs been losing lately as they have been fielding young (cheap) sides?

And if Roy Laird refuses to take more money for a job in the AFL why wouldn't his players have similar values - they play for the club not money!

And also the fact the everybody loves and winner and when your winning flags and have a good bunch of guys together players will be drawn to your club, hence if they want to be apart of it, I highly doubt there are players on huge match paymemts.
And what nobody thinks some of the 'higher paid' players were asked to accept slightly less money to keep the sucessful group together? Come on they have recuirted well based on players that are good SANFL players not necessarily on ex afl money hungry players.

30% still pretty high IMO.

Ralph couldnt be Rucci as Ralph can be funny at times!

Even when 18 of those (almost a third of the imports) went to two players? If they were fly-by-night imports then perhaps, but I'd imagine most imports that win a medal don't win just one.

According to my records CDFC have 62 premiership players, 24 of those from interstate:

Directly recruited (headed by number of premierships)....

9 - Gowans C, Gowans J
5 - Bello, Hopwood
4 - Callinan, Hayes, Arnott, Hay, Scoullar
3 - Goodrem, Lawry, O'Sullivan, Cowan
2 - Spurr, Ford
1 - Grima, Hulm, Moller, D Stevens

AFL Mini-draft and elected to stay

3 - Ryan Williams

AFL Mini-draft

3 - Brent Guerra,
2 - Michael Stevens
1 - Jack Gunston, Jonathon Griffin

Happy to be corrected but I think of those 2 played AFL at league level.....Personally I'd heard of two of them, Arnott & Callinan, before they arrived at the Dogs. And a fair number of those blokes played reserves footy before breaking into the league side.

As for the salary cap rumours, a lazy football reporter creating rubbish to support his personal vendettas......

Really, 30% high? Out of interest do you know what % the bays grand final side of 2008, would have been?
Ralph could be the "mouth piece" of rucci. Agreed, Ralph is sometimes funny, the only joke from rucci is his unprofessional articles.

I reckon Ralph is Wedgie, so nuff nuffs can start a pointless thread about a non-issue which can start a six page thread about nothing.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
