It does not help - the hurt is still as sharp as when we first heard the news - my thought to his parents at this time -- maybe now they can at least go forward without constant reminders from a slow court system

Three years for taking someone's life?

Incredible that this person will be walking the streets by the end of 2014.

Great post.

For anyone who's interested, I found a video package on youtube that the WAFC have put together.
I'm sure if you type his name, you'll find it.
It is sad to watch someone whose talent will be left unfulfilled due to someone else's idiocy.
The close of the video is something special - watching his team-mates climbing all over him after kicking the winning goal after the siren.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Yeah its an awesome video. FWIW he kicked the winning goal on or after the siren twice in 2 games against Sturt in 2009.

I wonder if he blamed the car and not his own foot on the accelerator.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Disgusting decision, should be in jail for at least the rest of his life.
Probably come out with an education after free rent and board for a couple of years and be better off than he was before anyway.
Thoughts with Corey's family, I couldn't imagine what I'd do if something similar happened and a penalty like that was handed out.

Like that's ever going to happen. If I had my way we would neuter idiots who dont give a stuff about how their actions will ruin other peoples lives.

Too many times there's stories of imbeciles who will never achieve anything except ruin the lives of someone who had potential.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

It's not good but just as well it wasn't a prominent lawyer as he most likely wouldn't have gone to jail at all.
