The club gave best player to Nathan Daniel, then Mckernan and Talia.

Our third quarters are terrible and if we can address them we will learn to win far more and perhaps put some games beyond doubt early.

Overall, I thought both teams had a very even spread of good players. For South, most played ok but IRRA was found wanting and hardly got a touch (caught with the ball and unable to dispose of it effectively) and Andrew Horne had no iffluence at all.

We need to persist and ensure that we continue to make and be at every contest. Whilst it is dissapointing to blow a five goal lead, we did re hit the lead twice and draw level in the dying stages. Next game is at home against WWT and is after a bye.

LOL, you really have NFI ... you made these observations from watching the game?

Played a very good game and it was a very soft report.

Must be more frustrating being a Sturt supporter I would think. ;)

Did he not get reported ? If so he maybe in trouble with points I would imagine . Watching a few times he SEEMS to be frustrated and when that happens reports often follow . Simply an observation , never said anything about him not playing well or anything else .

Not sure about frustrating being a Sturt supporter though , I knew we would struggle unfortunately. Being a Glenelg supporter probably causes more frustration but lets wait until September , if Glenelg make it to the finals to see the frustration again.

Just curious. Looks like South are wearing an away strip at home, from the photo in the paper. Are the Bays the Collingwood of the SANFL and refusing to wear an alternate strip, or was it a special occasion for South?

One point squandered. Very frustrating to blow a lead like that. Cracker of a finish though, and a plus was that the game looked shot late in the last but we fought it out well.

A few "school boy" errors cost us dearly (McKernan, Thewlis to name a couple) in the end.

Umps ordinary for both teams. Foolishly I praised them at half time, but they undid their good work in the second half.

Plenty of positives to take out of the game, but they are the sort of games that have to be won.

Have noticed this a number of times over the last couple years, especially coming out and paying the sort of pedantic frees supporters don't want to see. Who talks to them during half time?

[quote="dedja"]Random observations.

- Lucky to get away with a draw
- can't expect to win too many games when you only make an effort after half time
- it will take South 187 years to pay off those lights with the amount of supporters that turned up tonight
- BBQ was good, recommend the burger with the lot
- I knew it wasn't going to be a good night when we were based 3 metres behind one of the PA speakers ... if I want to have a basketball experience I'll go to Adelaide Arena thanks. Was waiting for the D E F E N S E chant, but alas, didn't eventuate
- Pagan's Paddock and ditching the zone in the 2nd half ... where's the like button
- SJABC wearing 6 layers of clothes ... Michelin Man lives on
- Mark Ruwoldt should only play WD so that he's not allowed into the 50m arc
- Can't decide whether Football Park or Arctic Park is colder on a winter's night
- 2 Grimas are better than one
- have no idea what's going to happen next week, the WLWLWLWL sequence has been broken
Athelstone is not very close to Noarlunga, especially at night

I can back you up on that one, I have been doing it ever since we moved down that way, on many occasions more than once a week.

I do have to disagree with one your last point dedja, its the same distance whether you go at day time or night time.

Glad you enjoyed the hamburger with the lot, I cooked it especially for you.

Agree on another point of yours, if South were to rely on supporters to pay off the lights, it could take longer. Mentioning the lights, the Panther Club, who run the BBQ area, last night gave the club a third installment of $10,000.00 towards costing of one of the light towers, so please all other clubs, buy from the BBQ as your money helps us as well.

South will wear their away strip only twice more this season, both times against Norwood.

I presume it had nothing to do with the Bays and South just wanted to stand out under the lights, but FIIK to be honest.

I reckon he might have been in a whole lot more trouble with points if the charge hadn't just been withdrawn. Counting chickens, etc.
