Perhaps it does not sit well with people to accept that an SANFL side just got its colours given a damn good kicking by a superior side and one that happens to play in the VFL? They had to both deal with travel and play away on a ground they have never played on before and still won it well.

Lobbe got a bath in the Ruck, Williamstown controlled the game from there, adding more of Westies supposed rested players would have done little to change the result.

Sojourner, West aren't making any excuses, they were beaten by a better side on the day. Willy had several players who would have played at Football Park before, West had many who were playing there for the first time.

You say West's "outs' wouldn't have made much difference. If you don't think the inclusion of Silvester at full-back, Ferguson at CHB, Brad Fisher up forward, Willits in the ruck, Birss and Fielke on-ball, Green, Hill and Anderson, replacing 4 first-gamers and one or two regular seconds players wouldn't have made any difference, then I have a challenge for you. I invite you to pick a South side with 6 of their top 10 players out, replace them with 4 first-gamers, post it on here and tell us with a straight face that it doesn't make any difference.

I look forward to your team.

Im sure Sojourner only mentioned this as he would be frustrated at the moment, after all his team was 5 goals in front in a home game and didnt win. Imagine the scoreline if South played Williamstown with a dozen A grade players out

South regularly play sides with 6 of their best players out and still lose anyway mate!

How many of those outs would you seriously expect to have been able to be in last night and really made any difference to the end result? Williamstown are filled with AFL listed players who will very much take it up to any SANFL side as evidenced last night. Likely they too had players out injured they might have brought in also.

My comment is made tongue in cheek to those who spout that the SANFL is the best state competition and so on, then go running for excuses when results like this occur. I would even suggest that Central would struggle to beat Williamstown. The sad thing is that we will likely never know as they don't have the bottle to take them on and find out which club really is the best.

Mate, you haven't had the bottle to either admit you're wrong or take up the challenge.

The rest of your post just repeats what you can't or won't back up with facts.

Poor effort.

But Williamstown are really just an AFL Reserves team, not a club, and their performance is largely determined by how many injuries the Bulldogs have in any given week.
At least we have clubs in the SANFL (for now...)

You don't think Ferguson, Silvester and Ben Fisher (half of our defence and two of the best key defenders in the comp), Brad Fisher, our best key forward, Willits our best ruckman, and Chris Schmidt and Birss (two of our best mids) would make any difference? How on earth could the absence of your best players not have a detrimental effect on your team's performance?
