Sturt put Central under a lot of pressure early and deserved their lead but then Sturts skills fell away which is how Central gained momentum . Sturt missed too many achieveable goals to keep close and against a top side you must take them .A bit baffling the 25m penalty and the holding the ball rule , well our umpires have no idea. Umpiring is sub standardand laughable at times. In the 1st Quarter a Central player was called to play on after receiving the ball back from the Sturt player , he must have had the ball in his hands for 2 seconds and hardly moved and then was told to play on and resulted in a Sturt goal .A pretty good game really.

He was doing it from the opening bounce, only thing being in the first quarter he looked like he had never played that role before and was running around in circles.

But yes he was very effective from quarter time onwards.

And for some reason we kept bombing it straight on top of his head for the rest of the game. Probably would have helped warm to the role.

We did repay the favour to Kurtze enough though.

Nice win by the Dogs yesterday.
Got the word at about 11pm last night whilst sitting around a campfire.
The good news prompted me to run through the fire.

I thought the main difference between the two teams was kicking for goal, I reckon the Doggies kicked 3 or 4 goals from outside 50 in the third 1/4 while Sturt burnt their chances. As mentioned, Centrals kicking from defence started terribly, very similar to how it was for their ressies. Centrals don't mind playing a long kicking, direct game while Sturt continue with short pointless handpasses putting the receiver under pressure. They're almost as bad as Adelaide in that sense.
Good to see Chambo, Brodie, Madness and Squizzy all having a few beers after the game.

Apparently Alan Obst has been reported for full frontal contact. I remember the incident but I don't remember him being reported.

This is what I got on Twitter...

Adam Cockshell @southadelaidefc, Allan Obst (Central) & Terry Milera @PortMagpies have been reported for forceful front on contact #SANFL

I was expecting the book to come out at the time, was surprised not to see it.

Could be a reprimand or 1 week.

The Obst 'incident' can be seen at about the 5:10 mark of the AdelaideNow highlights video, as per below link...

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a game, if not more, based on the fact the SANFL tribunal system now goes by the same points system as the AFL.

I saw Trent Sporn get 2 games for something similar against CD a few years ago, and he had a spotless record. If he doesn't get 1, after Jonas from Norwood getting 1 for his soft report, then the tribunal have NFI.
