IMO the lights at Elizabeth, even when new, and at Richmond make for a poorer viewing experience from a spectator point of view. Maybe it is my ageing eye sight, but I struggle to pick up player numbers when play is at the opposite side from where I am standing.

As I see it, if you can increase your "expected" crowd by 2000-3000, then it's worth the exercise, but as seems to have happened at Elizabeth, once the novelty wears off, the crowds dwindle back closer to what they were to start with.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Rumour has it the $60 000 cost to fix the lights could easily have gone ahead BUT the club has decided the cost isnt worth it for 2 night games for the year.

Kind of makes sense, especially considering the crowd attendances between day/night games at Elizabeth is alot tighter now that the novelty has worn off.

There would also be higher staff wages to pay as people start filtering into Grand Central alot earlier for a night game compared to the 2:00 starts where the clubrooms are dead quiet still at 12pm

You can transfer some Friday night games to the Parade any time you like.

Fine by me - I don't mind the place, even at night.

NB: "Central's" transferring Friday night home games anywhere may prove problematic. ;)

Our largesse includes throwing in the odd apostrophe.

We're like that at Norwood.

As is your natural gift of the epigrammatic it seems.

For what it's worth, I was alluding the fact that the CDFC has never hosted games on a Friday night. Though I'm sure you already realised that, and weren't being uncharacteristically obtuse.

Credit where it's due Roman. Such a relief that his fixation with Jason Mackenzie's posterior was relatively short lived.

Didn't North win a night game at CDFC in 2007 or 2008 on a Friday night?

yeah think 2007, they were up by 30 points into time on and Central kicked 4 goals in about 3 minutes.

the dogs had a chance in the last 10 seconds with a marking contest inside the forward 50.

Round 22, 2006 (Saturday night). North haven't won at Elizabeth since.
