Don't agree Thiele. Thought it looked ordinary and like a training jumper. Certaintly didn't look good with the dark shorts.

Lights looked good.

Never seen so many bugs in my life though.

Re the earlier question - can you please provide one explanation as to what was thought to be achieved from the farce of a side Collo picked for the main game? Simple answer, 'no'.

As a West supporter it was frustrating to drive to Noarlunga for the 'main' game and see half the side watching from the sidelines. But as there was free admission one can hardly complain. If I was a South supporter I would have been insulted by Westies approach.

If it's any consolation South would have taken more from the day than Westies as they would have developed more team cohesion and communication not to mention confidence. South did announce their teams earlier in the week so West would have known the arrangement but chose to do their own thing which, effectively, made for 2 very uneven games. The Bloods 'brains trust' will, ultimately, have to be accountable for their decision.

As a trial Westies could please themselves how they approached the day and I'm hoping that it's all part of a carefully timed, well-thought-out plan that will see them explode onto the scene in April!?

I'm glad Michael Shearer was given a chance.
He has been a very good Reserves player for a couple of years, so deserved a shot in the league trial.
Maybe there were a few more that the Westies selectors wanted to see in the main game like him. Not saying it was right or wrong, just think guys like Sherarer deserve their chance to show what they can do

Dont agree. The jumper looked great in the night.....stood out and you could easily see the difference between a West player and a South.

Most feedback has been very positive.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Decisions on the teams was made well before South had announced their sides so it wasnt going to change to suit what South was doing. You do what is required for your own team planning. Sydney under Paul Roos only ever won once in the preseason comp but were always in the mix come finals time . Tell me blackandred if Collo plays his best side on saturday what do the coaches learn that they dont already know , most teams use well over 30 players during a full season and this is the time of year to try those who havent been tested at the higher level & if it means a result like the one that happened so be it.Yes we all like to win but im sure they dont present the premiership trophy in March!!
