Query re Tony Bamford

Postby Sojourner » Sun Dec 26, 2010 11:30 am

With the One Port Adelaide now having gone through, will Tony Bamford be included in the Coaching Box as a part of Matthew Primus's match day Coaching Staff?

I recall that Andy Collins when he coached Coburg was in the box over there on match day, so will it be the same case for the coach of the Magpies that they will be considered an AFL assistant coach also?

I don't think that scenario is remotely likely.

Primus in Bamford's ear though....hmmm

Not yet Sojourner, but maybe in a few years time.

I think zipzap's on the money though.

Both coaches are in for a tough year and will do well to not grey out on top of their heads by the end of it . Id rather be Bamford though as the media will not even consider going after him regardless of finals etc. , but the PAPs seem to only be a few key injuries away from no chance ! And thats a shame :)

The Magpies aren't a reserves side. If they were then Bamford would technically be an assistant coach like happens in the AFL/VFL host club arrangement.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

With an increased number of games under their belt, I say the young Magpies are more likely to turn some of last years narrow losses into close wins.

As for potential injuries in the Power side, well that could describe half the competition.

With that, I can't see them starting their games as slowly next year as 2010. 1st quarters accounting for just 4 of their 32 "quarters won".

An overall net defecit of a couple of goals per game (for 46%) for 2010 was probably pretty respectable, all things considered.
