Adelaide Oval is uncomfortable with 25,000 people in it let alone nearly double that.

record for adelaide oval is over 60,000 in the 60s

The 60s ended some time ago.

Imagine the farce if you had people turned away because we decided to play at AO instead of Footy Park. Unless there is a serious problem or no chance of filling the ground should be played where as many can get there as possible.

If Adelaide Oval is/was such a good ground for playing/watching football, why did South & Sturt move away from there?

South moved away to better connect with their supporter base in the southern suburbs.
Sturt are moving back there next year... for night matches at least.

I voted for Adelaide Oval - after all, we have not lost a finals game their during our 11 year run. We have lost two at Football Park. ;)

Perhaps that is why 'supporter' is in the singular and not plural. ;)

What he said, plus Footy Park is all seated; it's needed these days with larger crowds. AO is perfect for the finals leading up the the grand final.

Plus it's the stadium that's owned by the SANFL, seems right that the two teams left standing have the right to play there.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Ground rationalistion died when the AFL finally got an Adelaide based team and the SANFL returned to the suburbs. It's the same reason the Eagles stopped playing home games at Footy Park.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
