In that article Phillips doesn't say he won't take the job if offered it, just that he hasn't spoken to North about it yet.

Lets hope Bluey wasnt shown the door, he has the form on the board and is well respected
Well respected by who? :? The Board, and we know what a fine group of football judges they are ..... not. Remember one common factor right through the Jars and Healy years has been Bluey developing the youngsters ... ho hum! Most of the players who took North to Reserve premierships in 2005/06 were methodically shown the front door or left to get a game (ala Grooke who play in a premiership side the following year).

Apart from the long 1st grade injury list in early 2010, the playing group played more as individuals and not as a team. On paper the list looks good, but a team of champions will never beat a champion team. It took Centrals some time to develop this concept, and they are deservedly reaping the benefits. All they are doing now is tinkering around the edges as needed to keep the club strong.

North has to get over the 1st hurdle, play as a single unit and become a stable side like Central.

It will NEVER happen overnight, and especially with whole-sale changes.

With all the bagging and negativity, no-one has noticed that the last 3 games of the season actually showed some team cohesion. We were looking like a team, and Healy and his coaching staff played their part in achieving that. Well done.

I believe that Healy should have been given his third year of the contract to see through the team development he had started. A new coaching group will not help the stability that was starting to develop in the side.
From what i heard Healy and the coaching staff had exactly zero to do with the way the team played in the last 2 and a half games. i was told that at half time of the south game the players locked themselves in a room to have a discussion, without any coaches, and once they came out they told the coach how the rest of the game was to proceed, who was to play where etc.

basically they took matters into their own hands and the difference between the first and second halves was obvious to say the least. from what i understand the players did the same for the following two games.

I cant understand how healy can still say he had the support of the players if the above story is true?
Tipper, well what you heard is utter garbage! The players did get personal with each other at half time, because they realised they were at there all time low, and there was only one way out!
Maybe them getting to the edge of disaster was whats needed, as there last month both on and off the track has been super, and yeh opposition may not have been top shelf but all you can do is win!
The playing group was and is still fully supportive of Daniel. Pity some others in club didnt think the same.
No one is saying this season is acceptable, but facts are facts, and the injury toll, and form slump and confidence loss of players due to these things are sometimes unavoidable.
But blaming the coach is a cop out, as he had the full support of playing group.

ftandsq - tipper is correct and what he posted is a lot closer to the fact than the tripe you posted!

If you think Healy still had the players - the last 10 quarters of football we played in 2010 showed that he was doomed. He should have walked at halftime of the South game - it must have been painful for him to watch a team and game plan that he had zip to do with!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

so you agree with most of my post and yet it is utter garbage? :?

i didnt say that they werent supportive of healy, i said i cant understand how they can be. If they had to take matters into their own hands to effect a change. that says to me that what the coach was doing wasnt working, and that he wasnt listening to the input of the players previously. i am happy for you to explain how my interpretations of the events is incorrect, if you can. :D
