3-4 teams would have beaten Centrals on Saturday - they looked flat. Eagles intensity won it but they will need to lift their skill level if they are to beat North next week.

If we are really serious about a top three spot, we will beat North; if not, we don't deserve 5th spot. Last two times we beat Central we lost in the next round - Port in 2008 and got flogged by Norwood last year.

Err - no you won't! From what I saw on TV last Saturday, the Eagles by 10 goals!

As for those people on this topic suggesting Buckets should have been reported, I saw it on the replay and it should not have been a free kick! Buckets turned to protect himself and was virtually standing still as Lewis's momentum carried him into the collision.

Eagles fans wouldn't want to get too carried away with the result on Saturday.

Although it was a very good one, we need to remember that 2 games to go & MUST win both to have any hope of getting 3rd spot.

My concern for the finals is;

Will Port power release Broadbent & Salter to us???
Watched Broadbent yesterday - played very well & appears in good form.
Will Port be prepared to risk him for us in September?

Very good win and one that was completely unexpected after we had done the week before against another top rated contender. That gives us a sniff at the top 3 but i'm not getting to excited as we still have to beat North and Sturt and both will be tough games. Outstanding games by Jarrad, Polek and Greiger. Giuffreda did an excellent job on Callinan keeping him fairly quiet in the early going.

Centrals played crap full stop. We always play crap at unley and woodville so expect to lose this week. Then beat Glenelg for the minor premiership. :D

There was radio talk that Salter might be cited by the AFL tribunal for a hit yesterday against Melbourne but no news so hopefully incorrect - getting rubbed out for 2 AFL games would cost us badly.
RE availability, AFL Clubs usually let their younger players {like Broadbent) especially play for experience in increased intensity of finals - Power would enjoy Broadbent gainin confidence from a BOG in an SANFL final.
Rumour that Hentschell may announce his retirement this week - this will allow him to possibly play SANFL finals because, without retiring, the Crows will refuse him playing due to their over cautious concern over his back injury. Retiring takes away their control. If a Crows/Power player isn't fit when they do the medical check 2 days after the last AFL match, they rule them out and disregard the possibility that the player might overcome his injury 2-3 weeks later which would have him ready for the last finals.

Another loss at Woodville. What the?
I don't understand it.
How come we have such a bad record there????

Great game on Scotty Lewis - the LNFC is very happy to see him performing so well.

Might be wrong - and you could easily confirm either way - but I had the impression that's been the rule rather than the exception for sides generally in recent years.

14 times from 2007, 6 were wins and 8 were losses. This excludes Norwoods' result in Round 1 this year (after winning in Rd 23 last year).
