Lol. This could be an interesting story over the next month.

I heard back in the early 90s after Hawthorn's dominance of the 80s one of their recently retired players asked why they had so many players come from the reserves and look like superstars. The player felt wholeheartedly that it was the presence of experienced former league players still there getting a kick, despite no longer playing league themselves. If Slade were to return and even only playing reserves he could be a good on field role model for the young guys. But whatever the outcome, we'll still be competing for the flag this year. If he plays he might add something, if not we run with the side that sits top.

Graham, on that, Michael Tuck played a large number of reserves games. Around 50 or more I think. Amazing when you think how many he played in the league side.

Didn't play. Played for Gawler Centrals and will play there again next week. He will decide where he is at after that.

Does he need a minimum number of games to qualify? Is it 5 like AFL players, or 3 as it used to be?

I wouldn't have thought, as he hasn't been playing in a higher league. It normally applies if playing in a "higher" league or grade and then returning to a "lower" league or grade.

I think the rule is they have to be on the senior list and have played one senior game (reserves or league) in the year.

In 2008 we were trying to get our recruit McCormack right to return for the last minor round reserves game to qualify for finals after he did his shoulder in our 1st internal trial game of the year. Didn't happen.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

*BUMP*

While Matty Slade has ruled out the comeback, Yves Sibenaler will play his first game for the Dogs for the year, albeit (and understandably) in the reserves...
