isnt that game the anzac day long weekend game though? Monday will be a holiday.

Some people, myself included, have Sunday night commitments. Whether Monday is a holiday or not, I can't make it. The SANFL seem to think people have nothing else to do than watch football.

Didn't realise the SANFL had to plan their fixture around your social life :D

LOL

SAAFL advised that no grant will be received for the upgrading of light towers at Thebarton Oval.

I love Sunday games at the Bay. Chance to catch up with fellow workmates and supporters as most of us have SAAFL clubs we are involved in on Saturdays.

My wife loves it as well a day out at the bay shopping and watching the game with some of her girlfriends. She even wears my 1996 SAAFL premiership jumper to the games.

Can't ask for much more than that.

RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

You can always count on SAfooty for an idiotic response. Some people have busy lifestyles, and football cannot always be their number 1 priority. Can't I make that point without some idiot having a go at me? Geez!!!!!!!!!! It's much easier to structure a routine of attending the football if it is usually played at a certain time.

My club starts off with a 4.30pm game on Saturday evening, followed by a Thursday evening, two Friday nights games, a Sunday night game, then another 2 Friday night games before we get to our first Saturday afternoon game in round 8. It's a crap draw and I'll be lucky to fit in half of those games. Then we have a bye, followed by another 3 Sunday afternoon games. That's ONE Saturday afternoon match in the first 12 rounds. So just try and appreciate the point I'm making, and give your smart arsed comments a rest for change.

I think the point he was trying to make is not too many people would have things to do on a Sunday night of a long weekend and the SANFL would be looking at maximising the amount of people they can get to games not catering to what the tiny minority of people who do things on Sunday night.
Looking at it from the overall point of view even though I prefer Fri night/Sat arvo games I'd think the huge variety of starts would be a good thing for getting the widest array of people to games.
It does have its downpoints though which I think you're alluding to in that there's a lack of continuity for some people, I know personally when I took up footy in the 90s it was fine as I played on a Sunday and still got to watch North play every Saturday, I wouldn't have bothered playing if it clashed with North.
These days that would be impossible to do.
Personally I get more annoyed when they change times/dates, I'll plan a lot of things at the start of the season and they are stuffed up when things are changed.

Norwood's draw does seem odd. Perhaps the club themselves requested it?
It's all the SANFL's fault.
