today's u18s

Port 10.10.70
Eagles 9.8.62

considering that Port had 6 overage players and Eagles had 5 players who are not 16, to go down by 8 points to the top team who hasn't lose is a good effort. The coach was happy with the effort and not as happy with the result.
WOOOOO, Premiers 1993, 2006 and 2011!

Some interesting things in the ladder again this week:

Bottom four almost playing four of top 5 (Eagles have the bye). South v Port, Sturt v Norwood, West v Central and North v Glenelg. If Port, Sturt, West and North win, the ladder will look ridiculous. The even-ness of the comp is also dramatically illustrated in the qtotal uarters won/lost column with most teams almost at 50/50!

Centrals have been in front for a total of 86% of game time. I think that was the case today with Norwood kicking the first goal of the day and then the last goal of the day at the start of time on.

Central have still only won 4 third quarters and 3 last quarters all year. Before today it was 3-3, and today they only won the 3rd quarter by a point. Are they (typically) comprehensively dominating the first half of games and then hanging on/struggling through the second half of games? I know they have a lengthy injury list - have they suffered these at periods of the game where they have had to run out the second half of games with a reduced bench?

Lastly, Port has the LOWEST losing margin in the comp at an average of 20.8 points, yet sit bottom of the ladder.

Keep up the good work Scott! ;)

Is this Norwood's first streak of six wins since 2002?

Dogs are losing third and fourth quarters mostly because the games are already shot to pieces and they just end up going through the motions.
