Agree was impressed with Ports work rate, their skills and game plan leaves a bit to be desired though.

PLaying 2 spare men in defence for the first 1/4 was interesting.

Loved Ty Allen's work today and Blackjack was his consistent self.

Good day at the footy, good SANFL contest

the second quarter lost us the game when we were outscored kicking with the wind. the last term again with the wind we would often kick to an empty forard line. Still a good effort for where we are at.

I was at the game yesterday, and it was a competitive game, never going to be outstanding skills in those conditions, but both teams had a crack, and Glenelgs depth of class proved the difference in the end.

Port fought hard in the first qtr, and were only 4 points down kicking into a 5 goal wind at qtr time. They worked hard both ways, and were measured moving forward, whilst Glenelg got a bit carried away by the breeze and bombed away alot I thought.

Undiscipline acts to start the second qtr cost Port dearly, as 25m penalties, free kicks after disposal and loose checking cost them goals, and handing Glenelg the ascendency. Glenelg were alot smarter moving forward into the wind, with Kirkby dangerous with 4 at half time.

The third qtr opened up a bit, with end to end footy. Johncock getting 2 opportunist goals, but Glenelg getting 3 goals in time on probably proved the difference in the end, blowing the lead to 5 goals at 3 qtr time.

Port dominated the last qtr, but wasted the ball going forward, and kicking 3.8 was never going to win them the game. Glenelg never looked like they were panicking though, despite the pressure Port were applying.

Tenace was brilliant, and best on for mine. Ty Allen was very good, as was Meyer. Kirkby was dangerous in the first half, but was well held after half time by Nick Maddern i thought. For Port, Summerton was good all day, uses the ball so well, and gets plenty of it. Thurgood was clean all day in trying conditions, and Johncock was solid. Glenelg certainly deserved there win, but Port fans shouldnt be disappointed with there sides effort, especially considering the effort shown by the AFL side on Saturday..

As someone else mentioned on the Snouts site, it was a game where you didn't really notice the umpires. Pretty well umpired actually.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

the port player (ruckman) in the reserves wearing number 6 impressed me & with some weight added on over the summer will be a valuable assett to them for many years

in the reserves port won 12.8.80 to glg 9.13.67 in an entertaining encounter

Bayman, why didnt you buy a budget, then you would know who the opposition players are you are talking about, or is it just because you know your own team the rest dont matter.

i bought a budget, however i was too lazy to go out to the car & get it ;) (still am tonight)......i'm sure our port friends will tell us what his name is
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
