You're being a bit kind there.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

well from a far i'd say port probably did their usual consistent football by just having a dip which succeeded yesterday, where as sturt well i saw them smash glenelg & central where i'd think most people would say they played sensationally yet in other games they've 'performed' well below that so what is the problem(s) ?

sturts problems (feel free to add anything constructive)

do the players take some opponents lightly & therefore not fully focussed ?............it would seem so, yet they should've learnt from earlier matches

is the coach as good as we all thought ? & how is his motivation & tactical coaching going.............at this level the players should be motivated anyway

or is it pure & simple that they are missing (as good as he is) michael coad more than anyone thought possible ?

do sturt need to see a psychologist ?...present form would indicate yes
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

For him personally he would have made the right decision, with Griffen being on the outer at the Crows and playing so well at SANFL level Giles probably would have only played 1 league game for the Dogs this year.

I actually think Giles has been decent. I think we mainly got him so he could run with Buckets in the big games. People might be critical of the fact that he hasn't dominated matches, but I think his performances have ranged from average to good.

I'd agree with that. Hasn't set the world on fire but has done enough to be our number 1 ruckman at the moment. Both Bowen and Angus Kurtze have the capability and have shown signs of taking over that mantle but as yet haven't been able to be consistently good.

Hinge has been the biggest disappointment in terms of recruits for me. He showed signs early on that he might go some ways to being a replacement for Coad but he seems to be directionless for big patches of a game. Turning it on in the last 5 minutes, like he did yesterday is too little too late

zipzap i agree with you, Hinge has been a waste of space on the park so far, bays fans would be happy that he has left.

Where to now for Sturt, this one week on, one week off style of footy is average, if they were able to win enough games and scrap into the finals, it would be a waste as we arent worthy of it.

game plan must change, other clubs have changed their styles this year while we are just playing the same style that we have for a few years now.

Did anyone at the game Saturday see what happened to the old man who died in the grandstand?

I think it would be fairly insensitive to discuss that on this forum.Suffice to say he was elderly, passed away and our condolences must go to this supporter's family and friends.

Have some of the Sturt players got ahead of themselves. They played great against the doggies because they had to and knew that. Did they just expect to beat Port. Such an attitude supposedly went a long way to the dogs losing so badly in 02 to Sturt.

Sturt will be fine when (if) they wake up.

We're not even getting one week on, one week off... unless the South game or Port game was a "week on" and if so, geez how far have we fallen then?

The latest chapter in what is turning into a pretty hideous season.
Reminds me a lot of 1984.
Hope it turns out a little better than that though.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

North should probably had jagged one too if not for the Centrals juggernaut...

For your sake Jimmy I hope Sturt win - as long as it's their last one for the season.

If they lose you can read the resurrected "Are Sturt Imploding" thread when you get back to New York.
