Re: Ashes 2023

Anderson with a 1/100 ish may have him struggling to keep his place also.
They'll keep him in though hoping he'll find his rythym in the second test.
Bazball v ozball hasn't worked out for them this test so it'll be interesting to see if there's any change to their second innings batting strategy.
They'll stick with it.

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

Very recently Some work clients and myself dabbled into microshares of a couple of horses just for an interest.

Warwick Farm tomorrow r3 - 1 Nana's wish.
1st up from NZ. Had a trial.
Drawn the carpark.
In the Maher-eustace camp.

I've had a bonus bet on for an interest at $3.10.

There is no rolling maul if they make a decision to throw the ball up but stop wasting time for teams to set up and nominate rucks etc.
Just get the ball and throw it up and the game will open up.

Just brilliant, not sure there has ever been a more higher profile Father Son, Boomers career was full of Cooper in the rooms and at training.

Must admit I was doubtful about his ability, but it seems he has busted the door down to get into the team, hope he rips it up.

Re: AFL Season 2023

So now Kane wants the Bulldogs to move their coach on come seasons end, hate to tell ya Kane, he's done better than your former coach as he has a premiership
And made another GF.
Cornes - Port cheerleader, his hypocrisy on so many things is very entertaining.

He's not wrong though, Beveridge is Teflon and has been for a long time, the premiership was 7 years ago, the GF was covid year*, the guy cant coach but thinks he's one of the greatest of all time and their list management is one of the worst in the comp. They probably have the most talented top 6 of any team but by having this they have to pay peanuts to their bottom 6. The bottom 6 week in week out would struggle to get a game at North or Hawthorn, even West Coast. You cant even call them role players, they are so bad. So who do you blame for this situation? It has to fall on the coach and list management.
They have done nothing to improve this situation over the last 5 years or so.

Hold the boat......
Brendan McCartney game plan won that Premiership and Bevo put the final touches on it.

Last night was possibly the worst display of leadership from a test captain.
Absolutely 0 energy
Field placings were diabolical.

Steve Smith threw a ball in from the deep and neither Green nor Cummins backed up. Patty had to run to save it from 4 over throws. They weren't happy with Smith, but where's the basic backing up from Cummins???

How shit are St Kilda?

Ross Lyon you owe me a Chicken Parma you dead set piece of shit.

If St.Kilda make finals, then either Geelong or Bulldogs are going to get a very easy elimination final, then that winner would get a Port after a brutal loss probably.

And then cats or dogs end up in a prelim final

Re: Ashes 2023

Ashes 2027.

I am getting in early.

Mrs C & I planned to go over to see some Ashes cricket soon after we were married, and before we had kids. It never happened.

Our Wedding day, was during the 1989 Ashes series. Midway through the 6th Test of that series at the Oval.

So 4 years out, I am starting the plans on what a trip to England & European trip may look like.

Fly to London, take in the test at the Rose Bowl - Southampton. A few days sightseeing in London. I did that 40 odd years ago, but I was a teenager then.

Over to Dublin, I'd like to play some golf there. Then back to London & the train through the Tunnel to Paris. Take in some Tour De France, before heading down to Rome for a look. Home via Dubai & Singapore sounds good.

If I am not semi retired by 2027, I will be bloody close too. We want to do one Europe trip - this one. Then when retired a USA trip. The key being do it before we get too bloody old.

4 years to stash some coin, and line it all up.

You're sorted, now what does the Mrs want to do ;)

When my mum & dad come over and say "we're going away this weekend" I reply "where" knowing it can be only one of two things, the response is always a "Quorn Cup" or "Clare Races" or "Warnambool Races" or "Geelong v Port at GMHBA"

C'mon Dad! [emoji38] Quorn Cup?? Is Booney your dad?

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

A dark, grey, pea souper was on the menu this morning and it hung around for basically 16 of the 18 holes.
There were holes where we couldn't even see 50m in front of us. Strained our eyes to see if we could find shadows moving up ahead before we hit.
Despite the haunting atmosphere, the golf was surprisingly good. The fog may have helped to concentrate to keep the drives straight to save hunting on trees when once we smashed them they disappeared out of vision.
32 points.
56° did a good job in the sand today.
Found 5 bunkers and escaped them in one for a change.
The baffler got a late call up. Adjusted it to 19°. Still needs some work, they are all starting far too far out to the right before drawing back. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230729/df39ba99bbbd019bf199d161247c5570.jpg

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

I had a shocker yesterday.
Putting was horrible. Never felt comfortable.
Been trying to improve around the greens with runners and little chip shots but just couldn't find any rhythm.
Driving for most part was solid.
The baffler again, causing a few issues. The start line is far to right of intended line. Then I make the adjustment and it started straight and turned into trouble[emoji1787][emoji1787] great game

PAT this morning in pleasant conditions, albeit overcast

After having the Driver working fairly reliably it decided to be all over the place today.
Irons were pull hooks
Putting was ok, but I just never hit them hard enough... never adjusted to the slower greens compared to those at Flaggy at the minute.

Re: Things that you rate!

Seems appropriate to ask this now, why do left handers look so natural batting at cricket yet look so awkward playing golf?
I golf right handed.

I guess it's such a rarity and a lot of golfers probably had to learn with right handed clubs.

You would think that batting in cricket we would bat the opposite ways around as our leading arm should be our guiding arm as it should have more precision. your preferred dexterity would be your more stable one.
Cricket - bowl right, bat predominantly left but am OK right
Baseball can bat either side
Golf - right handed. Tried left but feels completely awkward

I’ve been having a look at the latest drivers etc at my local Drummo’s. Considering a purchase here.

Not hit any of them yet… but reckon I will in the coming weeks. I’ve always liked Taylor Made in Drivers…. There are plenty to choose from.

36pts
1 scrub from a silly little rushed tap in
Changed my set up with my left foot square on whereas I normally have it flared out a tad.
Highlight was the 9th and a 7i baby draw over the bunker that was tracking nicely from the moment it left the club.
