Re: Things that make you laugh

I was reminded this evening of a drop kick cousin of mine and one of his finest pieces of work.

My aunty and uncle's house was broken into years ago and their VCR and some money was stolen, after some investigation my aunty rang my cousin and said "Hey *****, come here and bring our bloody VCR back with you please!"
"I don't know what you're on about?" was his reply
"We know you took it, you left your bloody smokes and lighter on the kitchen table"

Lucky he hadn't had time to pawn it yet.

John Elliott last night.
Half an hour nowhere near enough. I doubt two hours would be.
I could listen to his thoughts, opinions, anecdotes, memories & the bullshit & lies that go with it all night.
Very, very smart & entertaining man.
And the very reason they are in the shit they're in now.
Incorrect & unfair to lay sole blame at his feet.
Really, I'd say 95% of it.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 6 - 2015

The ruling has been there for some time, Smithfield's A's & B's lost points for misdemeanors from their 18's last season and the SAAFL has issued Ingle Farm with similar sanctions should they have any more blemishes within their club.

Whether you like Ingle Farm or not, it's something that their committee is going to have to nut out and for their members to comply with the set guidelines, the rules wont change, the sanctions wont be lifted, it's all about the IFFC players and members showing pride in their club and keeping their noses clean.

They aren't the first club in this predicament and they sure as hell wont be the last, I wish them well and I'm sure they have enough passionate influential people around the place to get back to building on the foundations that they have laid recently.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter how much good you do over a prolonged amount of time, you root one sheep and the whole town knows about it and you're back to square one.

Re: 2015 Frank Worral and Ashes Tours

Chris Rogers has announced he is going to retire from Test cricket at the end of the Ashes series and Brad Haddin has announced his retirement from ODI cricket.
I wonder if Rogers' decision was influenced by the plans of Adelaide Oval having a day/night test against the sheep rooters this summer. Either way, I'm kind of glad he's retiring and at least he can back up his good work over the past couple of years and go out at the top of his game.

As for Haddin, why even announce a retirement from ODI's, just piss off all together.....................cheat.
Why doesn't everyone declare Rogers selfish for waiting until after the ashes to retire?

.. If it was Kane Cornes they would
Probably because he didn't announce that he's retiring after day 3 of the third test.

Everyone knows it but if anyone says/does anything about the trouble she deliberately causes, then sorry, you won't see the kids.

Re: England v NZ

I do have a chuckle for all the people want KP back, the guy texted an opposition ways to get out his captain and also wrote a book slamming all of his team mates. Now I dont like strauss and Cook a huge amount but it's time to move on from the KP era and you know what for as much as everyone is bagging english cricket at the minute there is actually some great talent coming through the batting ranks. Root just keeps getting better and better and hes only 24 (averaged over 90 in the past year), Ballance has been averaging over 50 since his debut, I love Stokes and Butler with the way they take on the game and Ali is a quality number 8 batsman. Bell is a fine player, obviously Lyth we still dont know about yet and Cook must make runs against the Aussies or hes in trouble. Why should we drop talented young players that are making runs in the middle order for a bloke that in his past few years in test cricket didnt make many runs (His average dropped a few runs and he barely made a ton)?
We will struggle to take 20 wickets in the Ashes as we rely to much on Anderson unless Broad steps up but hes been awful of late, However our batting is exciting and I'm keen to see how they go against the best in Johnson, Harris and Co. In test cricket we have some promising youngsters, in One dayers we are truly awful and a mile behind the pack.
Not sure that I'd like to watch Butler Root Cook.

I take it Mitchell Park haven't been umpired by Trev too often. You quickly learn to stay quiet, lest you want 25m penalties and yellow cards.
I remember seeing Trev and Lindsay pair up a few times to out-idiot each other, he's just the same when he's umpiring Under 6's, I strongly doubt that he could have a facebook account.

FML. What a bunch of pelicans there are on this site now. Genuinely amazing how quite simple and straightforward points are completely missed.

If we warmed up at the wrong end, and Houghton wanted that end, we would have moved - not tried have started a fight, which is what happened with Angle Vale a couple of weeks ago.

It's not the warming up at the end which was the biggest issue, it was the refusal to move, and then attempts to start a fight. Its really not hard.

It's amazing how someone else's pet can touch so many people, I'm not much of an animal person due to the fact that my lifestyle doesn't allow me to give them the attention that they'd deserve now that I'm single, I do however know that sick feeling when they've escaped, been stolen or passed away.

I think Thommo's got that role secured for a couple of years yet, the runs are on the board, the lads are playing good disciplined footy and they respond to him very well.
I know that he's very strict on discipline and is a good fit for the club at this point of time.

Re: Things that make you laugh

Dude leading our work footy tips hasn't paid his $25 despite being asked every day and saying it's in his car and he'll grab it during the day.
It was meant to be paid prior to the season but because we get paid monthly the sheila running it gave us until our next pay.

She told the dude this morning that if he hasn't paid it by the end of today he's getting booted out of it, his reply "ok then, just remove me, I'm not fussed".

He's 2 points clear.

14 rounds to go, he could be 15 behind by then....

Yeah, but for the sake of $25 why would you want to look like a dickhead that couldn't pay? And it's not hard to maintain a lead once you become the hunted.

Nice.

Go and put a message on the angry prick #1's desk. Write on it "Someone from somewhere called for you. Please call back URGENT"

We've done that, we've made him ring the zoo and countless other places where he's been made to look like a dick.

They installed a new phone system that he thought was the end of the pranks, wrong, I found an unused anonymous line to which I've connected a phone to, silenced and hid it, IT have been investigating it for two months as he has lodged complaints.

He goes around pressing redial on everyone's phone or does a call back thing after he's been pranked and then roams the office's listening to who's phone rings.

The best part is that there's about 5 players in it so we make sure we rotate it around once he starts getting suss, he actually hides behind doors and shit trying to catch me out.

I know, we discuss it all the time, this bloke is really fat and goes off his absolute tits at me, one day he was yelling at me and a bit of egg came flying out of his mouth and landed on my arm so I flicked it back at him and it stuck to one of his glass lenses.
He's an absolute scream, sometimes he gets up and yells out "I've had it with all you guys picking on me, I'm going home". With that, he packs his shit up and storms out the door for the rest of the day.

So true.
Always the right of reply though.
How good would it be for the Farms and Smiffies to sit down in the middle of the oval and share a coldie together, still suited up after a tough but fair tussle after the game.
I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility mate, judging by some of the convo's I've seen on Facebook between players from both sides.

Yeah mate, everyone has their own story and the higher you get, the further you can fall.

It was only 2 years ago that I was at a crossroads and felt everything just wasn't worth it and I had no one to turn to, I was fortunate enough to be able to push through it, it took months of staring at a blank ceiling wondering whether I'd made the right decisions or not.

certainly hasn't bothered me today but it will around lunch time (i have mentioned this before) but how hard is it for someone who makes sandwiches for a living to cut all the way through the roll???

-
just got my lunch!!! How hard is it to cut all the way through!!!

i use to visit a deli on grote street and they would cut the roll fully, but load so much filling in the roll it would fall apart when i tried to take a bite or i open the wrapping and it would fall over and the filling would go every where. Good for value for money but no point in having a sandwich or roll when it is over filled. Might as well just have it all on a plate or in a plastic container .

Told the lady this and she nearly fell over when i said dont fill it so much.
I once went to get a yiros and I asked the bloke to not put any lettuce in it.

I was never a fan of Greg Williams - maybe because he didn't play for the Hawks but I have a new admiration for him and his wife after watching on Monday night. They did a power of work to assist when he needed it.
What a great game footy is not only for the game but the friendships that are made from it.
Very much the same, Eustace must have been a ripping bloke, to have help from so many different angles when it would have been easier to wipe their hands with him as society does so often when someone becomes somewhat derailed.

Losing a friend when I was 19 still haunts me knowing I could've done more for him, whether it would've prevented the inevitable will never be known but it certainly has made me more aware of the warning signs within others.

I'm fortunate enough to have the ability that allows others to confide in me.
