Re: Adelaide

You're not building for a tilt at the flag in 2024 though, with picks 10, 14 and 20 on top of the *ahem* growth of the likes of Soligo, Thilthorpe, Pedlar, Michalanney, Worrall etc you're building for a tilt in 2026 and beyond.

Our strategy is about keeping the window open for as long as we can, yours is about opening it up.

If he has a jar or two later and mentions it then you could perhaps offer up a happy birthday too him.

KING PAT AND HIS DISCIPLES PUNT CLUB 2023

Morning all,

Last year was quite onerous by way of placing bets and we’ve been unable to secure any bonus cash ( at this stage ) so we have $1200 to play with.

We thought long and hard about how to go about this and we’ve decided to run with a Cup Day bonanza. If anyone would like to join the conversation regarding how we set it up as a group we’re open to suggestions.

After a lengthy process of establishing I am no good at maths we arrived at this :

Lightning McQueen, Bum Crack, Spargo, Pat Pirate, MT79, Corona and Brodlach 1 – You will be picking the Early Quaddie. 1 pick in each leg 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 = $2401 – 10% = $240

Picks must be in by 9am Tuesday

Daisy 1, Shano Mac, JK, Jimmy041, Gadj 1, Mickey and Bertie Beatle – You will be picking the quaddie. 1 pick in each leg 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 = $2401 – 10% = $240

Picks must be in by 10am Tuesday

The below players have $25 as follows :

Brod 2 – Race 1
JK2 – Race 2
Hellboy Coopers – Race 3
Gadj 2 – Race 4
Dutchy – Race 5
LM Jnr – Race 6
Daisy 2 – Race 7
Carey – Race 8
UK Fan – Race 9
Booney – Race 10

10 x 250 = 250

250 + 240 + 240 = 730

1200 – 730 = $470

Everyone picks one runner in the Cup we will then

$270 on the First 4 numbers ( We will no doubt have double ups )
$200 on the trifecta numbers ( As above )

Dutchy will post BSB and Account details tomorrow. Payment to be made by COB tomorrow please.

Enter "PAID" in here.

Re: Things that you rate!

Cracking weekend :

Friday night:
Navy Club Friday night for AC/DC and Angels tributes, drinks at 1970's prices

Saturday:
Bottled a cracking session ale
AFLW on a perfect spring day in the bowling club at Alberton, drinks at 1970's prices
Couple of mates over for some cricket, beer, pizza and bullshit Saturday night

Sunday:
Dumpling Festival with $100 of vouchers Sunday lunch time, bao buns, korean chicken, couple of pales and a G&T or two for the bride.
Even made Mrs Boon happy* by strolling Rundle Mall for an hour before hand window shopping.

All the while getting the weekend washing cycle complete, even finished off the pool start up ready for the week ahead.

Some weekends nothing is great, other weekends when you go non stop are just as good, had a ripper.

Re: KING PAT AND HIS DISCIPLES PUNT CLUB 2023

( Given the logistics we couldn't wait any longer to get this party started )

Ok folks, here we go :

We have $1938 in the kitty.

Early quaddie :
LM
Bum Crack 1 / 3 / 4 / 7
Spargo 2 / 10 / 2 / 6
Pat Pirate
MT79
Corona
Brodlach

Please select one each in each race. 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 = $2401 > $480 = 20%

Quaddie :
Shano Mc
JK
Jimmy041
Gadj 12 / 5 / 8 / 6
Mickey
Bertie Beatle
Daisy
PAT PIRATE

Please select one in each race. 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 = $4096 > $819 = 20%

Race selections :
R1 Brod 2 #2 Chosen Legend $50 @ $11 = $550 BET PLACED
R2 JK2 #12 TACUMWAH $50 @ $9 = $450 BET PLACED
R3 Hellboy Coopers 3,4,5,7,10 & 11 Boxed Tri $50 = 41.67% BET PLACED
R4 Gadj 2 #3 $30 @ $8 = $240 Tri 3/6/7/8 $20 = 83% BET PLACED
R5 Dutchy #6 Generation $50 @ $6.50 = $325 BET PLACED
R6 LM JNR Boxed Tri 2,4,6,8,9,13 $50 = 41.67% BET PLACED
R7 Daisy 2 R7- 2 Shesallshenanigans $40 @ $16 = $640 & Quin-Boxed $10 2 Shesallshenaigans/1 Bossy Nic BETS PLACED
R8 Carey Boxed Tri 1,2,4,5,7,8 $50 = 41.67% BET PLACED
R9 UK FAN #9 Starspangled baby $50 @ $28 = $1,400 BET PLACED

You have $50 to play with each. 9 x 50 = $450

480 + 819 + 450 = 1749

1938 - 1749 = $189

Booney and DMc Jnr have $45 each to play with as they see fit.

Booney MR6 # 2 Euphoric win @ $4.80 > MR7 #9 Cigar Flick win @ $8.50 > $45 @ $40.80 = $1836 BET PLACED
D Mc Jnr - Race 6 2,5,6,8,12,15,17 tri $45 = 21% BET PLACED

This leaves a nice easy sum of $100. Now, what to do, what to do with it.....

We've decided that Pat Pirate will have $100 to do with as he pleases after he picks one in each leg of both quaddies.

All Up Place $50 @ $46.37 = $2,318.50 BET PLACED
Flemington R1 #4 Karavas
Flemington R5 #11 Key Largo
Hawkesbury R6 #2 New Mandate
Northam R6 #4 Who Be Whatee

Re: AFL Season 2023

The Western Bulldogs have been ordered to pay a child sex abuse victim $5.9 million in damages after the Supreme Court found the club was negligent in protecting him from harm.

Adam Kneale sought damages from the abuse he received from former fundraising committee member Graeme Hobbs, from age 11, occurring in the club’s offices, board room, staff toilets, change rooms and club stand, as well as on a cheer squad bus travelling to and from Sydney.

Kneale reported Hobbs to police in 1993, when he was 21, and both Hobbs and another man were jailed.

While the Bulldogs denied knowing about the abuse, a jury found the club was liable, awarding $5,943,151 in damages including $3.35m for pain and suffering, $2.6m for lost earnings, plus medical expenses.

It is the largest sum awarded to an abuse survivor in Australia and the first successful case against an AFL club.

Thanks!

I'll be happy to contribute nest year too.

That's how I looked at it, $50 and I had interest from 10am Tuesday to 8pm Saturday!

Re: KING PAT AND HIS DISCIPLES PUNT CLUB 2023

We'll be more prepared next year, perhaps float some ideas by way of structure and we may even look at increasing the buy in.

Last years $60 ( $50 + $10 Cup exotics ) was a bit harder to manage but gave us some more to play with.
