Re: AFL Round 18

its everything the AFL is trying to stamp out. Rampe chose to bump, ball nowhere near him, caused a concussion (can argue that if you like). lucky to only get 2 weeks.

Re: AFL Round 18

Took me about 20 views to even work out where the report was.
AFL would want to have much better vision than shown on their website if they want any games for him.
My eyes must be going with old age as I can't even see 100% evidence of who ran into who! Maybe the Sydney player just braced himself for contact as he saw the other bloke coming?
For the first time in my life I'm agreeing with Wubsy.

But, I couldn't see the Bulldogs player on the injury list but if he did get concussion then yeah it's 2 games probably, be interesting to hear evidence first though.

yeah i'd be off to OPSM if I were you...
Just read that Rampe was holding his chin after the collision, weird way to hit a bloke.
But yeah I'm one of the few people at my age without glasses, maybe I should make a trip. ;)

At least we can all agree if he was a Geelong player he'd get 3 weeks and have no chance of getting off. :D

 you know when I wrote it I thought you might say something like that

Re: Port Adelaide 2023

Would Port look at Grundy next year if they only had to trade say a 3rd rounder & Dees/Pies continue to pay the majority of his salary?

Whilst the premiership window appears to be open I don't think its the worst move? Thoughts?

Do each Port player and coach get a daily BJ with this deal also? Fair dinkum...

Re: I need to know....

I'm a downwind stones throw from Westfield Marion and have no problems there although my 13 year old was in Food Locker the other day when those gangs went at it with knifes. Good times.
My wife got attacked in the car park at Marion a few weeks ago by some looney bitch, accused her of stealing her kids before lunging at her neck, drawing blood & leaving a crook old gash. Witnessed by my youngest daughter who’s only 10 - we’re still dealing with the fall out there. Same woman attacked an off duty copper moments later. Police took her away, they told my wife she’d only just got out on bail.
Hopefully a member of the magistrate’s family suffer the same trauma caused by this woman, they might then think twice before letting them back on the street.

Shit sorry to hear mate.
No doubt the looneys are everywhere

Re: Ashes 2023

We should have rolled them for under 230 at worst. Will be interesting to see how we go with the bat tonight. More of a day 1 style Australian pitch with a touch of green to allow movement and a bit of zip. If we can bat long enough can see this being a peach to bat on over the next 2-3 days.

Anything under 300 from the way they play, and batting first, is a win.
I think Australia are way in front here.

Re: WEIGHT LOSS + the challenge

I personally wouldn't weigh daily. Could fluctuate with how much you drink, eat, go to the toilet etc each day. Then if you put on weight after a day (which you wouldn't have it would only be from what I said) you might get despondent.

I would do it once a week, at the same time of day and wearing the same amount of clothes. Takes out the variables.

Re: Bali/Phuket

What do people do for mobile data / calls etc whilst in Bali.

Currently got an Iphone using an e-sim.

you can buy a local sim (they are everywhere!) the cost is not too bad and probably cheaper than global roaming which is from memory at least $10 a day for 1gb data

Is that easy given i currently using 2 x e-sim, one sim for work, one for personal

Is it just a matter of putting the bali physical sim in the phone and then changing a phone setting. Then when back in SA take the sim out and rechange the setting again.

Yep we used one for our daughters phone. from memory though it was only a data sim and could not make phone calls

I had a mate visit LA once, and he walked out from the hotel to go for a walk. The concierge asked where he was going, left or right...he said left. The concierge then told him that the men you can see sitting on the steps down the street that way shot and killed a man last night. I suggest you go right...

Re: 2023 Silly Season

Port Adelaide has reportedly missed out on the race to land Brodie Grundy, with Sydney now in pole position to land the Demons ruckman.

It comes after the Herald Sun reported the Sydney lifestyle and opportunities outside the game appealed more to the 29-year old comparison to Port’s football-orientated pitch.

That report stated that while the Power focused heavily on what Grundy could provide for them on field, the Swans leaned more on outside interests.

As for Port Adelaide, Morris revealed the club is keen to lure out-of-contract Bulldog Jordon Sweet, having tabled a three-year deal to the ruckman.

Everything about the AFL is orchestrated now with draft compensations, fixturing, inconsistent suspensions, inconsistent fines, pathetic umpiring, unfair travelling and location of games, different venues with undercover away from the rain, or in the middle of buttf..knowhere in the rain, cold, or heat etc etc. There is so much they can control. And the worst thing is every time they do, it promotes the game cause we all talk about it.

The thing about Rowey is that when he is serious he actually has a good footy brain, AA don't want him to play that role though. Him being stupid gets clicks and ratings.

Then he's compromising his reputation for income. If that's how he wants to be viewed then good luck to him but you can't be both. You can't the footy show clown and the footy show analyst with any creditability.

You've pretty much described the majority of the AFL media.

Re: I need to know....

Reasonably light now, but it's at the end of daylight savings when it takes unnecessarily long for the sun to come up.

Would you rather have more light in the morning or evening? Morning definitely.

I don't mind it being dark until 7 a.m. in the middle of winter - naturally that's what happens in winter.

It's the darkness (due to DST) in October and March/April that sh1ts me.

I dont get it.

Most of us work full time, which normally means you dont get home or finish work until around 5pm. No one really has time in the morning to do anything outdoors so the extra hour in the evening to get out, go for a run, hike, ride, beach for a swim etc is more valuable than driving to work when the sun is out.

I think where it failed, was the need for a referendum to have a "Voice" in parliment that could have been done through legislation i.e. what SA are doing.

If they went to a referendum to "only" add recognition for first nations in the constitution, it wins easily.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

In a statement, the SANFL said Port Adelaide still had a contract until 2028 and nothing had changed from the league’s perspective.

“The last discussion we had with the AFL mid year was that an AFL Reserves competition was not a priority,” it said.

“We review the licence conditions that apply to the AFL clubs playing in the SANFL on an annual basis to provide all clubs with an opportunity to be competitive.

“The SANFL competition is considered the best outside of the AFL, and as a League we will continue to balance what’s best for football in South Australia.”

Contracts...lol
in other words, we have you until 2028 unless you want to make it financially better for us for you to leave and break the contract.
