Re: Adel Footy League- Women's

Cheers for the updates BD. Like having a look after a weekend. Saves time..

Good shout this, be useful if someone could put all the mens scores together on one page (like you'd get on the Sunday Mail if the year was 1999 and you still got a hard copy).

The amount of clicking to get from grade to grade in PlayHQ has led me to not follow what goes on in most divisions.

Re: 2023 Adelaide Footy League - Division 4

I wonder if some of this is an inter-generational misunderstanding and (fair) suspicion of TikTok, influencers and the like.

Can understand why they’d give you the occasional irrits but it seems hard to extrapolate it past them being a force for good

Re: AdFL Tribunal Listing

Given the number of people who play each weekend and crackdowns on things like dangerous tackles an extraordinary result for the league to keep a clean sheet over an entire weekend.

Pats on the back all round

Great result for the league....well done :)

They've done a great job in recent years.....some may whinge about the game getting soft but imo the league has done by far whats best for the genuine guys who want to go out and 'play' football each week.

Not just the league as it is, but the Clubs and players. Ultimately clubs and players seem to be largely embracing this mindset rather than having it imposed on them against their will. For everyone's benefit

Worse horror stories in respect of residential care being the alternative.

Not the position DCP takes though.

Re: SANFL Junior codes

Only just clicked that this was the last game of the season.

This confirms my experience while on committees that junior parents seem to go insane at the end of the year.

Re: 2023 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7

They wouldnt do any homework, they would just use stats from playhq.

It's a quick easy click bait piece for the media knowing 1000's will click looking for their name or their friends name. It's not meant to be a serious indepth analaysis of a low division football league.

I wouldn't bet against Artificial Intelligence having written at least a fair chunk of it tbh

Re: 2023 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7

Tend to think there's a huge difference to between circumstances of a club who accepts that they are in the need of cultural evolution, but also know that this doesn't happen overnight as opposed to those who regard perceptions of a need for cultural change as overblown or a conspiracy.

Realistically, a club who accepts there's something they need to work on will in turn work on it leading to change. It's the sticking the head in the sand approach that is more troublesome.

Re: Gaza FC - APPS Breaches

Might also add that for an offence apparently so serious to warrant an extraordinary fine/huge suspensions that 4 APPS points seems a bit trifling? One player a year?

Re: Gaza FC - Salary Cap Breaches

When I was on the committee $10k in the bank would have been cause for huge celebration.

$50k in the bank would be unheard of.

Re: Gaza FC - Salary Cap Breaches

Gaza aren't going to come out looking good if their defense is going to be they 'loaned' a player money.

That the members aren't looking into what they have to do to topple the Committee, appoint a new one, and come to the SANFL painting any breaches as a few bad eggs and seeking leniency is baffling.

In respect of any of these the best way of managing it is for the committee involved in the breaches to fall on their sword and take up golf for a few years.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7

From (limited) viewing over the years the best players in any individual D7 side get a game in any D1 side (and indeed blokes like Liam Davis turn out to be in the best handful of players in D1).

The bigger difference is once you get into players 11-21 you are looking at C/D Graders at the bigger/more successful clubs like PAOC, TTG, Golden Grove etc, hence why they've been able to historically hold their own playing D7.

Paying over the cap but not to the extent you promised would be a hell of a bold strategy.

It's funny isn't it in that in being totally unsuccessful makes it far less offensive.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6

Can't be good for Elizabeth. Looking for a coach this close to the season. What's going on out there?
I can't tell you for certain what's happening, I think at this point blokes are just leaving to avoid a sinking ship.
That is just making it worse.

We have a core group of players that just want the club to stay alive, we may unfortunately be down to 1 team for this year, but thats better than folding .

100%

Given he high quality of Argana Park/the facility generally we've all got an interest in footy remaining there via the EFC

Flicked between the two filming footy streams today.

Quality is brilliant. Hugely watchable stuff and better than the SANFL streams imo
