Re: Australian Domestic Season 2023/2024

Qld have 94 overs to bat according to my math assuming it was an half hour early start

104 over day
SA batted 8 overs
Changeover 2 overs

= 94 to bat

Re: Mens ICC Cricket World Cup, India 2023.

Correct me if I’m wrong, for the semis there is an extra 120 mins extra allocated for a result on the schedule day of the match, then a reserve day if required. A min of 20 overs each is required for a result.

If indeed it’s going piss down, then surely the only choice is to put the Saffers in first if we win the toss. The reserve day is just that. Only used if the actual day is a complete washout. The game can’t be played across the two days

I don't think that is true, the 19 WC Semi between India and NZ was played across two days.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2023/2024

Anyone know why Nathan Lyon isn't playing in NSW's Shield match against Tasmania?

(He played in their previous two matches v Victoria and WA so is presumably back to fitness.) I saw on Instagram that he was in Perth seeing Coldplay on Saturday and apparently his wife has recently had a baby. https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/nathan-lyon-and-wife-emma-touched-down-in-perth-on-friday-with-their-new-baby-c-12597805

Also his birthday today!

Rashid Khan out of the BBL with a back injury
Thank f*** for that.

Will kill the crowds, only person people wanted to go watch
Kids will wanna go regardless, if we’re winning then numbers will be good.

I love the guy but it pisses me off that he soaks up so much of the cap and then takes off just before finals.

I’d rather a player that has 70% of his ability but can play 100% of the games.

Will be interesting to see if he plays in the South African IPL

Re: International ODIs

Amazon Prime has purchased the rights to all ICC comps until 2027.
No FTA coverage of the T20 WC, 2027 ODI WC and several other comps for men and women.
Will need a Prime subscription to watch them in Australia

This is a very bad thing in my opinion, you want to grow your sport you don't put it behind a paywall

See Australian ODIs and the BBL for what happens when you block out a large chunk of your potential audience.

Re: BBL 23/24

Another game in doubt in the last over of 20/20 cricket
They say no one remembers the close BBL games , but people do remember last over finishes in Test cricket
The answer - there's so many of them in 20/20 cricket !!!

Good commentators
Great cricket
BIG crowd
Booney and REB should join the revolution

From tonight's game :
McGuirk is the next Glenn Maxwell
Sutherland is the next Shane Watson
Jordan Silk IS Jonty Rhodes

He was fantastic in the field tonight

JRichardson Morris and Behrendorrff doing everything they can to keep the spud from bowling ;) Haha! Your mate ended up with some economical figures, the Perth quicks were unreal up front having Hobart 5/47 before Chris Jordan made 59 from 20 got Hobart to a respectable and defendable 8/172.

Hardie and Crawley doing everything they can to keep the spud from batting haha

FWIW I actually don’t mind him.

I cant stand him but he doesnt deserve that. Hopefully gets them back so he can enjoy his last test and then ride off into th sunset.......until he's on our airways yuck.
