Re: Licenses sold- anchors away.

The issue is why were they sold ? Who pushed this and why did the SANFL not hold firm and demand a lot more.
Great for SANFL as we now don't have to bail out Port and can beat the sh1t out of them as we have no vested interest like before. :D

The Power and Crows have kept the SANFL competition afloat and will continue to do so even with the licenses sold back to the clubs- The SANFL will leech money from the AFL clubs under the AO stadium deal same as they did at AAMI.

not much changes for the SANFL under the new arrangement

Re: Reserves Round 1 / League Trial Games

and so they should be. They will be targeted by failed footballers like Clinch who want the 15 minutes of fame.

That sort of stuff is not on in a practice game no matter which era or team or player. enjoy the 5 weeks off.

Re: Save the Tigers

The AFL teams are the only reason our competition and clubs still exist. They bring in what, $20 mill a year through the Adelaide Oval deal? most SANFL games are lucky to get more than 100 people turn up?

We need to go back to grass roots to survive, stop paying interstate players big money, stop trying to be the second best league in Australia, just live within our means.

Re: Save the Tigers

Because fans are not interested in going to to watch a comp that is so compromised. All clubs are in the same boat.
I know plenty of Norwood supporters who have stopped going since the reserve teams entered and personally my interest is at an all time low and my financial supports of the club has been cut from thousands a year to a couple hundred.
lol. You seriously can't see how much of a cop-out that is?

The competition is no more compromised now than when you had AFL players running around in every SANFL team. Putting them all together at Port and the Ravens has not created 2 teams that dominate the comp which was the big fear initially.

People just aren't interested anymore because it's a poor product. 4 games a week, hardly ever see a nail-biting finish or even a close contest. A bye every second week. Yawn.
